Hola from Chacala,
First I should clear up the little
issue we had with the Police the other day in Teacapan. What we're going with is we had walked
into town, and planned to taxi back. Now since there are no taxis in
Teacapan and we'd need to return via a snake infested trail through tall grass in the dark, the Police offered us a ride back to our campsite. So the official line is the Police were just giving us a ride
back to the campground. I hope this puts the Police issue to rest.
We are hiding out here in Chacala
waiting for the Police issue to settle down. Camping here on the
beach, frying fresh fish, riding the waves and reading our books, we
just blend in with the scenery. Kona can barely hold his head up,
after this morning's hike up the hill to see the volcano crater, then
snorkeling, and some boogie boarding. I think he is just staying
awake because he knows it's almost feeding time.

After snorkeling this afternoon we can
add Angel fish to our animal list. We also saw several others of
various shapes and sizes. The other day Dennis spotted a whale
breaching and he put on a pretty good show (the whale). Oh, and I should tell you
about Ray's scorpion sighting. Last night Ray had gone to the outdoor bano, and after
doing what he went there for, Ray was preparing to do his paper work,
when out from the roll of paper crawled this scorpion. Ray immediately dropped both the paper and the scorpion, which fell to his ankles....he scorpion fell
to down by Rays ankles, which is where his pants were. After what I
am sure was very careful inspection, Ray pulled up his pants and had
nothing else to report, but that was too close for comfort.

Tonight we are having pollo asado, just
for a change from the fresh fish. We typically cook about 1 hour
after watching the sunset. After dinner and dishes we have a game of
wizard. This brings out many laughs, then around 10:30 we go off to
read ourselves to sleep. The waves have been pounding pretty hard.
The big ones we call Van shakers.
One more sunset shot from our living room, bedroom, kitchen.
OK, pollo is starting to smell real
good, I best go help with quality control, not that we have had any
quality issues.
