Lo de
Marcos
First things first, I need to give
credit where credit is due. Thank-you Lydia, Ray and Cathie for the great
photos. They really add a lot to the blog.

Well here we are Christmas morning!
... OK, not really, but it does feel like Christmas as we get our
Vans back from the Spa today.
Taffy and Hazel at the spa |
They went in for complete makeovers.
Ray and Lydia have given Taffy, (their van) a complete color change,
she is now Taffeta white. Taffy was getting very hot and bothered in
the heat of the afternoon sun. Sometimes when Ray was checking her she her
temperature he would fine a very high fever. Now she has a much more pale
complection and this should keep her body temperature in check..
Hazel has kept her natural skin
tone, but had her skin cancer removed. This involved both internal
and external procedures. The cancer was starting to spread through
her whole body.
The Vans are scheduled for release
from the spa at 4 pm today. We will get them reoutfitted with fridge,
trim etcetera tomorrow, then head for Patzquaro Friday morning.
Cathie and I have also been in for
some maintance. Cathie has had this cold that just will not go away.
She has tried everything, sleeping in, reading, massages, weeks of
rest and relaxation, but none of this seemed to cure her. In a
desperate attempt to cure Cathie we went to the doctor. He described
Cathies symptoms perfectly and figured it was the allergic reaction
that has been going around. He prescribed some medicine that should
have Cathie cured shortly. My ears have been bothering me when I go
swimming, and the doctor was able to check them as well and give me
some medicine for them. I also have had a crown installed, No
silly, .... on my tooth. All this above work has been done smoothly
and very efficiently. I can report that the body shops and medical
doctors are very efficient here in Mexico and I would have no
hesitation on getting any work done down here.
Now we have also had some beach time
here in Lo de Marcos.
Yup a real surfer dude |
I rented a surf board for a few days and had
some fun with that, until the surf went flat. We swim several times a
day, and Ray and Lydia have spotted several eels, starfish, angel
fish and many other fish while snorkeling. We have reviewed all the
outdoor beach restaurants, and they are all muy sabroso.

Every
morning we walk the beach before breakfast.
It's been fun watching
the Pelicans dive bomb schools of sardines, the smaller sea birds
taking the scraps or hunting crabs from the beach.
There's also an
assortment of fishermen using rods and nets catching fish from shore.
From our sun deck, we have also enjoyed watching a Mexican Cacique
building a nest.
They weave a hanging grass nest with their beak ...
very cool. They have been working at it for several days now and its
really coming along. The male seems to do all the work while his
partner ( I don't think they are married) watches the process. Not
sure if she is a supervisor or providing security. The birds follow
the Mexican tradition starting early, then taking an afternoon siesta
before returning back to work in the evening. It's at a stage now
that you cannot see the working bird when he is inside doing the
work. The nest is at the end of a Palm Tree frond. The first flight
for the babies will be like when Ray and I went for our first high
flights with our hang gliders.... kind of scary
Well look at the time Ray. We'd best
go get our Christmas presents.
Hasta Luego.
